Supervisor – operational departments
The Supervisor who is working in one of the operational departments (Production, Distribution, Quality, RMA, Inventory, Logistics and Warehouse) is responsible for supervising and coordinating the departmental business processes and activities to ensure that we are meeting or exceeding the Service Level Agreements and the Key Performance Indicators. And set the right conditions for a safe and constructive working environment. The supervisor works in a LEAN driven organization which is embedded in the company’s philosophy.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES
- Manages different levels of employees.
- Typical titles of direct reports: Team Leaders, Line Leaders, Assembly Operators, Quality employees and Technicians.
- Organize, assign, and evaluate work of other employees.
- Hire or has major influence in hiring new employees.
- Write performance reviews.
- Determine or influence regarding salary increases and promotions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/ RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage, oversee and coordinate the day to day activities of the department.
- Directs, coordinates and associates within the organization so that the work is executed as efficiently and effectively as possible.
- Enforce departmental and inter-departmental procedures. Develop and revise standard operational and work practices and assure compliance to standards.
- Manage, coach, lead, develop and motivate direct reporting staff.
- Maintain departmental metrics, ensure they are kept up-to-date and accurate.
- Ensures that all appropriate paperwork is complete and accurate.
- Drive Lean philosophy andcontinuous improvement.
- Drive safe and constructive working conditions
- Train, coach and develop staff to improve skills and efficiency.
- Promote 5’s practices.
- Promote positive employee relations through effective conflict management and issue resolution.
- Responsible for resource planning of staff and equipment
- Conduct timely audits.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Vocational education: bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ leadership experience in a manufacturing or supply chain environment or in a fast paced, high volume distribution facility required.
- Knowledge of Project Management and Time Management.
- Proficient in MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel (intermediate to advance levels) and PowerPoint.
- Experience with SAP & MRP
