GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The SAP Business Systems Analyst – MM/PP is an SAP professional and is a member of the larger SAP BSA team.  He/She will bring specific knowledge of the MM/PP workstreams and Supply Chain to the team.  The individual should be an expert in SAP Materials Management and Production Planning with functional and technical knowledge of SAP Modules.  He/She is a critical resource for client onboarding’s and other programs undertaken by ModusLink.  The SAP BSA is responsible to analyze and design system solutions to meet operations processes which ensure our profitability.  The SAP BSA is the main liaison to the development team and will work closely with them to ensure quality of design and program functionality. He/She provides key input to our SAP MM/PP standards and execution of our supply chain ERP solutions.  The role involves knowledge and understanding of SAP at a functional level as well as business processes and applied practices. Excellent facilitation and communication skills are essential for this role.

 

 

  1. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
    1. Expert on SAP MM/PP Module
    2. Direct assistance to clients in defining key MM/PP capabilities and requirements that will enable their strategy (client facing communications).
    3. Direct assistance to Operations on internal Materials Management and Production Planning operations using SAP MM/PP functionality.
    4. Perform configuration within the MM/PP Modules. Work with Global Business Solutions team to ensure modeling is aligned with the capability of the system and Global ERP goals.
    5. Experience in designing a system solution based on Purchasing and Production Planning Requirements.
    6. Ensure the standard models comply with company optimization goals globally.
    7. Create complex conceptual designs (including application interfaces and interactions).
    8. Execute project phases including application design, build, test, and deploy activities. Develop and action Unite and Integration test plans.
    9. Work with other project and BSA team members to identify interdependencies between various application and workstream activities.
    10. Work with the other Business Process Functional Teams, Data Management, Technology Services, and eBusiness Teams as well as the end users, to analyze, design, develop, modify, test, and implement, solutions and applications to satisfy business requirements.
    11. Create functional specifications for hand off to SAP development team for items such as reports, transactional programming changes, interfaces, SAPscript, Remote Function Calls (RFCs), Business Application Program Interface (BAPIs) and User Exits.
    12. Document internal and external process flows and operating instructions for business execution team.
    13. Demonstrate understanding of SAP ASAP methodology.

  1. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or business.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on SAP MM/PP design and implementation experience.
  3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in an SAP Functional Role: strong design and implementation of at least one full SAP life cycle in a supply chain environment and expertise in MM/PP.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, requirements gathering and client interactions.
  5. Strong leadership skills.
  6. Excellent analytical and technical skills.
  7. Strong written and verbal communication skills, Strong presentation skills; ability to present and discuss strategies and technical information in a manner that establishes rapport, persuades others, and establishes understanding for technical and non-technical audiences.

  13. Knowledge of key aspects of the business.
  14. Basic knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes.
