Lean Process Engineer
1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Lean Process Engineer is responsible for leading CI projects and the training, coaching and mentoring of resources and the process engineering for ModusLink Miami in Doral, FL. This position will report directly to the VP of Americas Operations.
2. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
A. This position must have a passion for a continuous improvement culture; have the presence and leadership required to enact plant change; be approachable yet demanding; possess exceptional ability to coach internal and external teams.
B. Proven extensive use of Value Stream Mapping, Leader Standard Work and Standard Work, 5S tools, SQDIP Daily Management, Lean Cell Conversions, and have led continuous improvement events teaching each tool.
C. Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills with attention to detail.
D. Proven ability to work on several projects simultaneously and under tight schedules.
E. Knowledge of data collection and interpretation.
F. Experience in project management, associated principles, and tools are preferred.
G. Tenacity to accomplish tasks, follow-through, and meet deadlines.
H. Data driven decision maker.
I. Leads change management efforts to ensure seamless, flawless execution and engage support from divisional leadership to the process level. Partners with key stakeholders to develop detailed, comprehensive execution strategies and plans.
J. Develops and supports productive relationships with business partners
K. Bachelor’s degree with additional training, experience, and demonstrated capability
L. Develop and drive a kaizen funnel.
3. NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
A. Other duties as required.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS
A. 80% plant floor environment, 20% office or training.
B. Minimal travel required.
5. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
A. Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, process engineering, or a related discipline.
B. 5 years experience.
C. Lean certifications.
D. Effective communication, coaching, teaching and presentation skills, internal influence, and ability to create followership.
E. Driving optimization and results through utilizing LEAN methods and tools.
F. Ability to coach up and down in the organization.
G. Project management experience that includes leading, organizing, planning and executing projects from conception through implementation across multiple reporting and organizational lines.
H. Must be bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
