eCommerce: The New Frontier for Manufacturers

My colleagues and I will soon be headed to Frankfurt, Germany to attend eCommerce for Manufacturers: Online B2B & B2B2C Practices on behalf of ModusLink, and I’ve been asked to present on how strengthening online customer relationships optimizes supply chain management. My session, “B2B & B2C eCommerce: Optimal Supply Chain Management Starts with the Online Customer,” takes place on January 17th at 11:45 am CET.

While the ModusLink team does attend leading industry events regularly, I have to say I’m especially excited about this one. See, we are experiencing a new trajectory in which the realm of eCommerce for manufacturing companies is rapidly growing and facilitating a shift from business-to-consumer (B2C) sales to business-to-business (B2B) sales. Traditionally, manufacturers shipped products to stores, which would then sell to the consumer; but now, the lines between B2B and B2C are blurring, and manufacturers now to adopt multi-or-omni-channel strategies across the entire supply chain, including eCommerce, in order to keep up with the changing purchasing landscape in which customers have the utmost control.

I take great pride in my role at ModusLink, helping businesses organize and optimize eCommerce and their online presence, and I look forward to sharing this knowledge at the eCommerce for Manufacturers conference. In my presentation, I’ll specifically be tackling how organizations can optimize their supply chain management and increase sales via key sustainable customer relations best practices, effectively managing online customers and dealers (and matching the right customers and dealership inventory,) and also which considerations to make when evaluating DTC and logistics solutions.

We at ModusLink are excited to help our customers adapt to and excel in the new eCommerce frontier. ModusLink is happy to be a part of making this success a reality for our customers, and we look forward to where eCommerce will go in 2017!
