ModusLink to Share Observations on Latest Innovations and Trends in Manufacturing and Logistics

Webinar to be Held on April 20, 2017 at 1:00 pm EDT

WALTHAM, Mass. — April 11, 2017 — Steel Connect Inc. (NASDAQ: MLNK), a global, omni-channel technology and fulfillment provider, today announced that it will host a webinar sharing its insights on the latest innovations and trends in manufacturing and logistics.

Entitled “From Factories to the Future – A Story of Innovation in Manufacturing and Logistics” the presentation will explore the impacts of global mega-trends and the direct influence on the supply chain and e-commerce industries in 2017 and beyond.

Some of the specific areas that ModusLink’s Chief Strategy Officer, Nick Foy, will focus on during the webinar include:

  • Data and Analytics – How and why companies today must work to capture their existing data and make it actionable and productive across their operations.
  • Internet of Things – Companies should embrace the Internet of Things (IoT) and grow accustomed to tasks such as replenishment and pick, pack and delivery being automated and completed without any human intervention.
  • Automation – By integrating bots and corresponding apps into operational workflows, companies can use these tools for repetitive tasks, taking care of everything from order entry to line-side replenishment.
  • Robotics – Smaller, more nimble machines have the ability to perform multiple tasks and work alongside humans, aiding in productivity.
  • Cognitive Technology – As cognitive technology, or artificial intelligence, matures it will have several applications – from the way you make, ship and deliver products, to the way you learn what customers want.

Foy will discuss the merits of some of the trends and advances, examine their impact and provide some practical application ideas for those who aren’t sure what’s relevant, what we need to catch up with, or indeed, what we need to get ready for.

The webinar will be taking place on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 1:00 pm EDT. Those interested in attending can sign up here:
