ModusLink CIO Neil Hampshire to Address Attendees at 2017 Supply Chain Innovation Summit

Hampshire to Share Best Practices on Embracing IoT in Business Operations and its Impact on the Supply Chain

WALTHAM, Mass. – May 16, 2017 – ModusLink Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Steel Connect Inc. (NASDAQ: MLNK), a global, omni-channel technology and fulfillment provider, announced today that Neil Hampshire, Chief Information Officer, will deliver a presentation entitled, “A new Supply Chain in a smarter world; How IoT and smart devices are changing the interactions between suppliers, customers and consumers” at the Supply Chain Innovation Summit, taking place May 25-27 at Le Méridian in Shanghai. The two-day conference, organized by Ace Events, will address themes and trends surrounding supply chain innovation, digitalization, ecommerce and cross-functional collaboration.

The proliferation of IoT and smart devices presents companies with new opportunities and ways of engaging with customers and consumers. In fact, Gartner predicts 2020 will see 37 billion IoT devices used around the world – a staggering number that offers value and opportunity for manufactures and global supply chains. The rise of IoT is changing the way companies operate, and will allow them to curate, manage and leverage data and turn it into actionable knowledge.

In his presentation, Hampshire will feature real world examples from ModusLink clients to demonstrate how end-to-end value chains are changing and new business models are emerging. He will also uncover the key benefits of utilizing the IoT in business operations, impacts and opportunities for the supply chain and guidance on how to bridge the gap between potential and reality.

The Supply Chain Innovation Summit brings together more than 400 C-level and senior supply chain executives, providing them the opportunity to build new business relationships, insight into the latest trends in supply chain and logistics and access to new products, technologies and solutions from nearly 40 exhibiting companies. Hampshire joins an impressive speaker lineup, which consists of renowned industry experts, including executives from SAP, Nokia and Reliance Industries Limited.
