Supply Chain and E-Commerce Blog
This week, ModusLink is proudly exhibiting at the 2018 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), where attendees can visit booth 2416 to gain a glimpse into the new technologies driving the future of the digital supply chain.
In the past decade, the retail industry has changed dramatically. Most notable has been the shift from traditional brick-and-mortar shopping to online and mobile purchasing. As a result of this shift, retailers have been forced to focus on e-commerce and fulfillment strategies to ensure the online or mobile customer has the same excellent experience that retailers were once solely focused on delivering in-store.
On Thursday, April 20th, I’ll be giving a presentation via webinar about what the future holds for those of us in the e-commerce and supply chain industries. My presentation, entitled “From Factories to the Future – A Story of Innovation in Manufacturing and Logistics” will explore the impacts of global mega-trends and the direct influence on the supply chain and e-commerce industries in 2017 and beyond.
As we’ve discussed before in this space, there are endless business opportunities that will be created through the implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in every element of global business. Being able to quickly understand the various opportunities in front of you – and capitalize on them – will be critical to future success.
We are excited to share the great news that ModusLink has been named the Gold Stevie® Award winner in the “Front-Line Customer Service Team of the Year – Business Services Industries” category of the 2017 Awards for Sales & Customer Service, the world’s top honors for customer service, contact center, business development and sales professionals. The awards were presented during a gala banquet on Friday, February 24 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada, with more than 650 executives from around the world in attendance.
If you’ve been following the ModusLink blog regularly, you know one of the topics we are most passionate about is how the Internet of Things (IoT) and smart devices will revolutionize the supply chain as we know it. According to analyst firm Gartner, an estimated 37 billion new “things” will have joined the Internet by 2020. This new era of smart and connected devices will transform how consumers interact with devices and brands, and how companies interact with consumers.
For over ten years, ModusLink’s Solution Center in Brno, Czech Republic has been providing customers with a wide range of critical supply chain capabilities in the consumer packaged goods, medical device and technology industries – even providing the facility with some major upgrades and reservations as it reached its ten year anniversary in April 2015.
My colleagues and I will soon be headed to Frankfurt, Germany to attend eCommerce for Manufacturers: Online B2B & B2B2C Practices on behalf of ModusLink, and I’ve been asked to present on how strengthening online customer relationships optimizes supply chain management. My session, “B2B & B2C eCommerce: Optimal Supply Chain Management Starts with the Online Customer,” takes place on January 17th at 11:45 am CET.
On December 12th, I’m excited to be presenting my first webinar for ModusLink on a topic that I’m super passionate about: helping our customers figure out ways to become more streamlined and efficient while still maintaining a strong connection to their customers.
